ISO Standards for records management

Hello all,

I'm curious whether any of you have used the ISO Standards for Archives/records management. If so, did you find them helpful? I'm struggling to justify spending over $100 to purchase the 2016 version when I have no way to know what kind of information it includes. Here is the link to the website I've been looking at. http://www.iso.org/iso/iso_catalogue/catalogue_tc/catalogue_tc_browse.htm?commid=48856

I know that as an ARMA member I get a significant discount but I'd like to get some feedback from people who have used it. I believe the last version was published in 2001. Any comments would be helpful.

Hi Julia,

what would you like to use this ISO, for design and develop then go for ISO 15489.-1, 15489-2, 23081-1, are really useful and helpful sources for establishing RIM program in your organization. in fact I have designed and developed an ERMS application using this doc.

Should you need further information on application, please let me know.

I took the approach of FARS (functions, activities and record series) for designing the application, advantage is regardless reorg or merging, we don't need to revamp the whole classification system
